Good initiative. The ad networks not only take much of the money from the publishers but from advertisers too. best of luck

This is a neat idea, not to mention a bold move!

May I ask what software is used to manage the advertisers’ accounts?

Thanks!

In addition to your other site stats, your Website Grade from http://www.websitegrader.com is an 82.

That means it is better than 82% of the other sites out there in terms of SEO, traffic, social popularity, etc.

How are you getting over 8K pageviews with only 341 uniques? Are you counting bot traffic in there or something?

@hmtksteve:

I calculated the averages reported above by taking the total pageviews as reported from AwStats and divided it by the total number of days in the month, thus an average per day.

At the end of each month, I post a screenshot of my AwStats report, so you can see for yourself.

As of this second, my AwStats reports 6,803 uniques this month and 303,258 pages viewed- 10876 from bots. That still leaves 292382 total pageviews for the month. I received a lot of traffic from StumbleUpon this month as an article I wrote earlier was stumbled quite a bit.

hmtksteve – check his Alexa. Although not perfect, at the level he is now in Alexa – it is showing he is getting traffic from somewhere. Just as you 50K Alexa show that you are getting some traffic (not as much as here, but hey…)

awstats and webalizer both over-report page views to the tune of 20x real traffic. If I went by my webalizer numbers I’d be reporting over a million page views a month! I use Google Analytics and I know that my actual page views are under 50K.

Another reason (aside from bots) is that awstats and webalizer report EVERY php page being requested as a different page view. One page served from your blog can result in 10+ page views because of all of the php files being called.

My Alexa is showing less page views because I split my blog in half last month and launched a new one.

@hmtksteve:

I installed Google Analytics on my site today, so once it starts gathering data I will note any differences it has with AwStats and report them on my monthly stats report.

Thanks J! You will notice a very large difference between what Google Analytics tells you and what awstats tells you. It will take a few days before you can pull a useful report.

This is very encouraging. I’ve been very disenchanted by the ad networks of late.
