July was the first month that the SiteFever blog went live. The first post was made on July 6. For the past two years, I had been using HostGator for all of my hosting, but on July 22, SiteFever moved to InMotionHosting.
In the first three weeks of the SiteFever blog, we have had no shortages of traffic! From July 6-July 31, we have seen 6,838 unique visitors accounting for 10,338 total visits.
On July 6, SiteFever’s Technorati rating started at 978,467 and climbed to 195,964 by July 31. We also peaked at 38 full feed RSS subscribers.
As far as monetizing the blog, I am currently using Kontera and Adsense. Here’s the breakdown of the money received from those programs:
Adsense: 4 clicks = $3.56
Kontera: 19 clicks = $3.22
That brings us to an incredible $6.78 revenue for the month of July! (We’ll just hope that this figure increases each month) Although I was not expecting to hit the lottery, I must say that I was surprised at the low advertising revenue when compared to the large amount of unique visitors to the blog.
Currently, SiteFever.com contains 30 posts and 49 total comments. As far as short term goals are concerned, I continue to strive for one post each day (although it was difficult this month with my grandmothers brain surgery on July 18th). I am also looking to increase my RSS subscribers as well as gain a little more attention from fellow bloggers in the webmaster community.
Thanks to everyone for your dedication to SiteFever thus far! If you have any suggestions as to ways to improve the blog, please let me know.
