Did you know that Google is good for more than just searching for websites? Most of us may know some of the basics such as how to check for backlinks, related sites, etc.

I’m going to show you some great resources that you may have been missing out on- all available from Google.com.

Calculator

Google has a built in calculator. All you have to do is enter the conversion and click Search! Here’s some examples:

2*4+8
2^20
half a cup in teaspoons

Currency Converter

To have Google convert one currency to another, just type in what you want to know:

4.75USD in GBP
5 British pounds in South Korean money

Definitions

To use Google’s dictionary, just tell it to define any word you want:

define kangaroo

Numbers

Tracking numbers, VIN’s, UPC’s and patents can be searched using Google:

UPS tracking numbers example search: “1Z9999W99999999999”
FedEx tracking numbers example search: “999999999999”
USPS tracking numbers example search: “9999 9999 9999 9999 9999 99”
Vehicle ID (VIN) numbers example search: “AAAAA999A9AA99999”
UPC codes example search: “073333531084”
Telephone area codes example search: “650”
Patent numbers example search: “patent 5123123”

Site Search

You can search Google’s results within a particular site:

site:sitefever.com

The above search will display all pages listed within sitefever.com.

Weather

Google will tell you the weather, too!

weather orlando, fl

Links

Check to see who’s linking to your site:

link:http://sitefever.com

I knew Google did a lot, but some of those surprised me!

I’m a big fan of the measurement converters and stock quotes, myself.

Yeah, I didn’t know that Google did UPS tracking numbers! That could of made my life a lot easier all these years.

Never knew them all either – the UPS tracking is extremely surprising! I use the calculator and metric conversions the most.
