i think analytics shows much better and refined results compared to awstats, i have monitored both of them and find that awstats showing wrong stats,

Another think to note is that awstats shows wrong page impressions because it counts any call to phps..where as google analytics script i.e. urchin tracker is called when a page is loaded in browser so i think it’s accurate.

I saw a discrepancy in my stats yesterday awstats showed that maximum of my site’s visitors came from USA followed by Australia but Google analytics is showing India in top followed by neighboring pakistan. Here we hav to find which is correct.

That’s an interesting find. I just assumed that both services performed the same way. Perhaps I’ll have to do a little study on my own.

I think gogole analytics is corerct one and give more accurate results than awstats. But you create an account with statcounter.com and check if in anyways google analytics reports and statcounter reports match or not. I remember a day when i removed google code from my blog b’coz i was surprised by the stats it showed. Till now i’m not sure that gogole analaytics is most accurate.
